O'Brien Ice House Reviews

I took my kids to O'Brien Icehouse and, overall, we did have a fun time on the ice. The skating itself was enjoyable and the kids were happy, so that part was definitely a win.

That said, the venue didn’t feel as clean as I would have expected. The toilets were a bit rough, the bins were overflowing, and a few tables near the café still had old food and sticky marks on them. It kind of looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in a while.

The staff we spoke to were pleasant enough, which I appreciated, but the cleanliness really does need more attention. For the price, I was expecting the place to be better maintained.

It’s an okay place overall, but it kind of works when it wants to. Sometimes staff seem to be paying attention, and other times it feels like skaters are just left to do whatever. I really think they need to watch the rink more closely, especially when it gets busy

I could barely skate because the place felt cramped. Maybe it was just the time I went or there were too many people on the rink, but yeah, it was hard to really get into it when I kept having to slow down or move around everyone...

I booked our skating session through the website and it was straightforward. The available times were easy to see, payment went through without any trouble, and the confirmation email came through straight away. I also changed the number of people before paying, and that was simple too. it’s just nice when a booking site works without making everything harder than it needs to be.

The event went really smoothly from start to finish. The staff were relaxed, friendly, and clearly knew what they were doing, which made the whole experience feel easy and well organised

Parking was really easy when we went. We found a spot close by and did not have to keep driving around forever looking for one. It made the whole visit feel a lot less stressful, especially since we had kids and bags with us. I would definitely be happy to go again.

Had a good time at O’Brien Icehouse. The coach was really calm, showed up on time, and explained this and that without making me feel silly for not knowing stuff. I’m not giving it 5 stars only because the class felt a bit rushed toward the end, but overall it was a really decent experience.

Took the kids skating. Had a nice time. Grabbed coffees and chips after. Cafe prices felt a bit steep. Not a huge surprise though. Places like this usually are. Food was fine. Staff moved quick. Overall, still a good day out.

The atmosphere felt kind of cold and rushed, and, uh, the music was way too loud for me. I had a hard time relaxing there, so it just wasn’t really the experience I was hoping for

I had to change my booking last minute, so I sent them a message not really expecting it to be sorted quickly. To their credit, they got back to me fairly fast and handled it without any fuss. It made things a lot less stressful, especially since I had kids waiting on the plan. Overall, a really smooth experience and it was nice dealing with people who actually seemed willing to help...

My kid has been enjoying the skating lessons so far, the coach explains things in a way that’s easy to understand and still keeps it fun. The classes do feel a little busy at times, but overall I’m happy with the progress.

I went skating here and it was a good time overall. The rink was fine and we had fun, so I don’t want to make it sound like a big disaster or anything. But the locker situation was kind of frustrating when we got there. There weren’t many available, so we ended up standing around for a bit and had to ask the staff before finally finding one. It wasn’t the end of the world, but also... come on, when it’s busy, that gets annoying fast. Still enjoyed the visit though. They just really need more lockers.

I went to O'Brien Icehouse as a total beginner, and overall it was good. The staff were friendly enough, and the rink felt safe, which made a big difference because I was a bit nervous going in. The only thing was that I felt kind of lost at the start, like I wasn’t totally sure where to go or what I was supposed to do first. Maybe that’s just me being new, but a bit more guidance would’ve helped. I still had fun, though, and I’d probably go again

I went skating here and the skate fit was just okay. They had my size, one boot felt tighter than the other and started rubbing after a bit. It wasn’t awful, I could still skate around fine, but it definitely wasn’t the most comfortable. The staff swapped them out when I asked, that helped a little. Overall it was decent, I’d probably just bring thicker socks next time

The ice was fine overall, but a few pieces started melting quicker than I thought they would. Maybe it was just the way I had it set up or something, not sure. Not bad though, I just expected it to stay solid a little longer

The kids absolutely loved it, it was ridiculously easy to set up and use. Like, why can’t everything made for kids be this simple? No confusing instructions, no hassle, no dramatic meltdown halfway through. Just opened it up, got it going, and they were happy. That’s a win in my book...

I did get it sorted eventually, but the cancellation was really annoying. I’d already planned my day around it, so having everything thrown off at the last minute was frustrating. It worked out in the end, but it definitely ruined the plans I had.

Took the kids here over the weekend and they just had heaps of fun. The staff were really patient with the beginners, which made things a lot easier. It did get a bit busy at times, but overall it was just a nice family outing...

Hired skates here last weekend they were better than I expected. Compared to some other rinks I’ve been to, the fit was actually comfortable and the blades felt sharp enough without that wobbly, worn-out feel. They didn’t rub or kill my feet either, which is always a win. Staff were quick to swap sizes when needed, so the whole thing was easy and hassle-free. I’d definitely use their hire skates again.
